Divinity is considered a deity (e.g. Erik as divinity), or that relating to a deity (such as a divine experience or gift from a deity). This section of the site will include odds and ends relating to those definitions, in addition to religious crusades of the UCoE and other related subjects.

Erik is Everywhere!
In May of 2005, a follower of the Fundamentalist Church of Erik discovered a unique and unusual item listed on eBay: a potato chip in the shape and style of our dear Phantom's mask. A few members tossed around the idea of chipping in funds to buy it as a group while simultaneously bemused at the thought of anybody actually bidding on and buying such an item. Much to the surprise and amusement of the members, bidding ended early on the item after some soul chose to utilize the "Buy It Now" option and purchase the Erik-chip for $10 (plus shipping and handling, of course!).

Because things like this are too bizarre to make up, the Universal Church of Erik has preserved, in its entirety, the eBay bidding page for this most holy of chips:

"Sticker It!" Crusade
Also from the Fundamentalist Church of Erik, this crusade started after a debate over book-burning. One of the members of the FCoE started a discussion of Frederick Forsythe's piece of Phantom trash and mentioned how they had held a book-burning of it in Erik's honor. The arguments against book-burning (no matter how foul and heretical it might be) that ensued following the post brought up a plethora of ideas for ways to scare people away from the book without destroying it. Better yet, the members thought they might be able to turn some new people towards Leroux's original. One of the FCoE's members came up with a sticker that UCoE/FCoE members could print out and place in copies of the book. Remember: sticker paper is not necessary...all you need is glue!

Phantom of the Opera Tarot Deck
Years and years and years ago (the summer of 1998 or 1999, to be more exact) the UCoE webmistress had an idea for a Phantom of the Opera-based tarot deck, the ideas for which can be found on the preceeding link. Over the past eight years, off and on, she has worked on fleshing the idea out; now she would like to open it up as more of a church group project. If you have any ideas (also, if you would like to contribute as an artist) feel free to contact her through the email address located on the Contact page.
